Morning Glory Blues

Upon the mourning

Glory Road

So pure become the blues

For somehow of

The emptiness

A lonely grace is born

Like the solace

Crying doves

In peaceful mourning bring

***

Along the trail

Of broken hearts

Like stepping stones of love

Through the sadness

And the rain

The freedom train rolls on

While reaching deeper

For the songs

A soul still singing dreams

***

Perhaps by faith

A brighter day

As twilight turns to Dawn

Will bring to life

Another love

Much better than the rest

As gently waxing

Azure light

Preludes the rising sun

Where morning glories

Bold in bloom

Are blue and look the best
